答：由餘四般生結起結二俱未盡，生有長時其勢強故，初得有餘已非即入無餘，中般不還生結已盡，起結雖在其勢微弱，況說中有生其勢但七日，故結羸劣得有餘已便入無餘依。

Answer: Because the other four who attain parinirvāṇa have not yet exhausted both the fetter of taking birth and the fetter of arising defilements, and because existence in birth lasts for a long time and its force is strong, upon first attaining [nirvāṇa] with remainder they do not immediately enter into [nirvāṇa] without remainder. For the non-returner who attains parinirvāṇa in the intermediate state, the fetter of taking birth is already exhausted; although the fetter of arising defilements remains, its force is feeble, not to mention that birth in the intermediate state lasts only seven days; therefore, the fetters being feeble, upon attaining [nirvāṇa] with remainder they immediately enter [nirvāṇa] without remainder.
