引喻者乃至比況言論者，如立聲無常因云所作性，欲令敵論於因生信，後舉瓶等世間共許易了之法，以比況之令因得立，故云諸所作者皆是無常猶如瓶等，故所引喻為因所依，此文是總，下舉同類異類別明二喻。

Regarding 'citing examples' up to 'comparative discourse': as when establishing that sound is impermanent, the reason states 'because of being produced'; wishing to cause the opponent to develop faith in the reason, one later cites easily understood things commonly accepted in the world, such as a pot, comparing them to enable the reason to be established. Therefore it says: 'Whatever is produced is impermanent, just like a pot and the like.' Hence the cited example is that upon which the reason relies.
