'How can the six contact spheres be called a spring?': the six spheres are like a spring, and the defilements are like water, as they issue forth from the spring. Alternatively, regarding 'experiencing peacefully and that which is subsumed under feeling': Master Ji explains that 'peaceful experiencing' refers to joy, and 'subsumed under feeling' refers to bliss. Moreover, pleasing the mind is called peaceful, and comforting the body is called subsumed under feeling; unpeaceful is the opposite of this. There is yet another explanation: 'peaceful experiencing' refers to joy and bliss, and 'subsumed under feeling' refers to body and mind, or to seeds of feeling.
