The eleventh section on activity has five verses: the first verse asks, and the remaining four verses answer. In the commentary: the first explains the verse containing the question; the second, from 'furthermore, it reveals that the Tathāgata relies on the ultimate truth' below, explains the first answering verse; the passage from 'by this it reveals trainees and adepts' below explains the second answering verse; the passage from 'this reveals that the brahmins' below explains the third answering verse; the passage from 'one who has attained dhyāna permanently severs all' below explains the fourth answering verse. If one has not yet abandoned sensual desire, in order to cross the flood of sensual desire one moves one's feet and motions one's hands, exerting diligent vigor, which is called 'not having reached the bottom'. If one has already abandoned sensual desire, it is called 'having reached the bottom of the source', where one calmly advances to sever the higher fetters without moving one's hands and feet in hard, diligent exertion, which is called 'not by bodily parts'.
