如此八地通於有心、無心二地，雖有此義，論主據略故對五地辨心有無，景又解云：此之五地前已解訖，故就此五分別有心無心，已外未說故不對料簡，雖復三摩呬多、非三摩呬多前已解說，而此二地尋伺已有尋伺等三地中攝，故不別論。

these eight stages extend across both stages, with mind and without mind. Although this is the case, the author of the treatise, based on brevity, differentiates the presence and absence of mind with respect to the five stages. Jing further explains: because these five stages have already been explained above, the differentiation of possessing mind and lacking mind is made with respect to these five; since the rest have not yet been explained, they are not compared and analyzed. Although the samāhita and non-samāhita stages were also explained earlier, because the investigation and reflection of these two stages are already subsumed within the three stages of having investigation and reflection and so forth, they are not discussed separately.
