第四段頌釋中，謂能順惡戒冗戒因緣者，能發惡身語名惡戒因緣即舊所云惡尸羅也。污惡善戒故名惡戒，非戒體惡，犯諸善戒之根本名冗戒因緣，釋此頌中唯解上半。

In the explanation of the verse of the fourth section: regarding "causes and conditions that conform to bad discipline and broken discipline," that which can give rise to bad physical and vocal [actions] is called causes and conditions of bad discipline, which is what was formerly called bad śīla. Defiling wholesome discipline is called bad discipline, not that the essence of discipline itself is bad. Transgressing the roots of all wholesome disciplines is called causes and conditions of broken discipline. The explanation of this verse explains only the first half.
