第十六段一頌，釋中，初釋初句，難可調伏已上釋調，雖施安處下釋輕躁，輕舉躁急性數易故，第二雖強安處內寂止中下釋第二句，第三諸聖弟子於如是等下釋第三句，第四彼既如是善調伏心下釋第四句。

Section 16 has one verse. In the explanation: First, it explains the first line. Up to "hard to tame" explains 'taming'; from "although situated and positioned" downward explains 'agitated and restless,' because it is light-moving, restless, and its natures frequently change. Second, from "although forcefully situated within inner stillness" downward, it explains the second line. Third, from "all noble disciples regarding such as these" downward, it explains the third line. Fourth, from "after he has thus well tamed the mind" downward, it explains the fourth line.
