習種姓時亦有二種：一、是性種中有漏種子，遇緣引發增長，已去即名習種，從此習種生起見道，已去無漏，還即熏種，並名習種。備云：法爾種子未生現果，故未與果，未有現行所熏，長以未習成果，從法爾種生故，現行却熏，本種增長，名習成果故。

At the time of the cultivated gotra there are also two kinds: first, the tainted seeds within the natural gotra, which, upon encountering conditions, are aroused and increased, and from then on are called cultivated seeds; from these cultivated seeds, the untainted [states] from the path of seeing onwards arise and immediately perfume seeds in return, both being called cultivated seeds. Bei says: Natural seeds have not yet produced manifest fruit, hence they have not yet yielded fruit, and having not yet been perfumed by manifest activity, their growth has not yet been cultivated into fruit; because they arise from natural seeds, manifest activity perfumes them in turn, causing the original seeds to increase, which is called having been cultivated into fruit.
