如水所生雜穢蝸牛，螺音狗行者，景云：蝸牛在水行時令水穢濁，如彼牛涶，西國界螺音，然有者狗咢似彼螺音而行狗行，譬彼苾芻內懷貪等。

Regarding 'like water-born foul snails, conch-voiced with dog-like conduct', Jing says: 'When snails move in water they make the water foul and turbid, like cow saliva. In the Western regions there are conch sounds, yet some dogs bark like conch sounds while engaging in dog-like conduct; this is an analogy for a monk harboring greed and the like within.'
