次別釋二力有二復次：初復次中直明思擇力境界不能過斷滅，若修習力見過能斷；第二復次即言思擇力伏纏不發隨眠，若修習力即伏現行復撥隨眠下。

Next, individually explaining the two powers, there are two alternatives: in the first alternative, it directly explains that the cognitive object of the power of reflection cannot be cut off and eliminated through fault-[perception], but through the power of cultivation, seeing the fault, one is able to cut it off; in the second alternative, it states that the power of reflection suppresses active entanglements without stirring latent afflictions, while the power of cultivation suppresses active manifestations and moreover uproots latent afflictions.
