第三番中，初總標二力，謂思擇力及修習力，即前所說能防念慧。一、是思慧相應念慧為根律儀，是其伏道；二、是修慧相應念慧為根律儀，是其斷道。

Within the third round, first the two powers are stated in general, namely the power of reflection and the power of cultivation, which are the mindfulness and wisdom capable of guarding that were mentioned previously. The first is mindfulness and wisdom associated with wisdom arisen from reflection serving as the restraint of the faculties, which is the path of suppression; the second is mindfulness and wisdom associated with wisdom arisen from cultivation serving as the restraint of the faculties, which is the path of eradication.
