世增上者，謂於諸蓋隨一已生或將生時便作是念，我若起蓋當為大師諸天有智梵行世間所毀，故從障出淨修其心，上來廣晝日經行宴坐能離障訖。

'Predominant influence of the world' means that when any one of the hindrances has arisen or is about to arise, one thinks: 'If I give rise to hindrances, I will be reproached by the Great Teacher, by the gods, and by wise practitioners of the holy life in the world.' Therefore, one emerges from the hindrances and purifies one's mind. The above has extensively explained the ability to abandon hindrances through daytime walking and sitting meditation.
