Third, explaining bending and stretching: bending and stretching the hands, feet, arms, and other limbs during the previous going, returning, looking, gazing, etc., is bending and stretching. Knowing the self-characteristic of bending and stretching refers to intentional action or conventional personhood. Knowing what is bent and stretched refers to the hands, feet, and so forth. Knowing the time means when clapping, waving, or relieving fatigue, etc., is required, whereas at other times one should not. 'If bent in such a manner', etc., means knowing what matter the intention of bending and stretching originally serves.
