不淨息念等者，此有兩解：一云，不淨數息是說五停；念者是說總別念語。諸學證淨者是說四不壞淨語；一云，不淨者不淨觀，息念者持息念，諸學者三學，餘如前說。

Regarding 'impurity, mindfulness of breathing, and so forth', there are two explanations. One says: 'impurity and counting the breath' refers to expounding the five resting [meditations]; 'mindfulness' refers to expounding general and specific mindfulness. 'The factors of training and confirmed clarity' refers to expounding the four unshakeable confidences. Another says: 'impurity' is the contemplation of impurity; 'mindfulness of breathing' is mindfulness of breathing; 'the factors of training' refers to the three trainings; the rest is as explained previously.
