二、應頌者，謂佛說經已半，或於最後，為後來重說伽陀，我為鈍人聞長行說仍未了義或中間時或於最後重說伽陀。

Second, 'melodic chants' (geya): when the Buddha has finished expounding half a sūtra, or at the very end, he restates verses for those who come later, or for dull-witted people who, having heard the prose exposition, still have not understood the meaning; either halfway through or at the very end, he repeats the verses.
