家家者，如雜心云：若斷三四種，成就彼對治，餘二生是說名家家，謂若斷三品有三生在。若斷四品有二生在，人天合數但有七生，人天別數十四生。今且據合數七生作法，欲界修惑有其九品，初一品獨損潤二生，第二第三共損潤二生，第四品獨損潤一生，第五第六共損潤一生，第七一品獨損潤半生，第八第九共損潤半生。

As for 'from family to family' (kolaṃkola): as the *Saṃyuktābhidharmahṛdaya* says, 'If one severs three or four kinds, accomplishing their antidotes, with two rebirths remaining, this is called kolaṃkola.' That is to say, if one severs three grades, three rebirths remain; if one severs four grades, two rebirths remain. Counting humans and devas together, there are only seven rebirths; counting humans and devas separately, there are fourteen rebirths. Now, proceeding by the combined count of seven rebirths: the afflictions of cultivation in the desire realm have nine grades. The first single grade alone impairs and nourishes two rebirths; the second and third together impair and nourish two rebirths; the fourth grade alone impairs and nourishes one rebirth; the fifth and sixth together impair and nourish one rebirth; the seventh single grade alone impairs and nourishes half a rebirth; the eighth and ninth together impair and nourish half a rebirth.
