Among the ten to be remedied: the second, generating craving and attachment toward conditioned phenomena subsumed under satkāya, means conceiving of them as permanent and generating craving and attachment toward the conditioned phenomena of the existing body. The third, indolence and laziness, means being attached to pleasure and one's own comfort, and therefore being lazy. The sixth, various worldly proliferations and so forth, means that for the sake of body and life, farming, trade, serving the king, medicine, incantations, building parks and pavilions, singing, laughing, poetry, and recitation, etc., are all proliferations. The seventh, contemplating phenomena with yogic attention, has eleven kinds of faults: 1. doubt; 2. being unable to delight in abandonment and delight in cultivation due to coarse heavy states; 3. being lax in the expedient means of cultivating calm and insight due to torpor and drowsiness; 4. physical fatigue and mental vexation hindering fierce energetic effort; 5. weak energetic effort causing wholesome dharmas to decline; 6. delighting in fame and profit; 7. restlessness; 8. generating fear toward nirvāṇa; 9. beyond one's measure, forcibly taking pleasure in subduing others regarding various speech, giving rise to disputes; 10. the mind racing and becoming distracted toward various objects; 11. forcibly dwelling in contemplation where one should not contemplate. These are all faults because the mind is dark and fails to understand clearly when contemplating phenomena.
