答初問中，身相三十五者，略有十四對：一、內外對；二、根非根對；三、情非情對；四、麁重輕安對；五、能所造對；六、名色身對；七、五趣對；八、有無識對；九、中表對；十、變不變對；十一、成不成根對；十二、親怨中人對；十三、劣中妙對；十四、幼少老對。

In answering the first question, the thirty-five characteristics of the body are, briefly stated, of fourteen pairs: (1) internal and external pair; (2) sense-faculty and non-sense-faculty pair; (3) sentient and non-sentient pair; (4) coarseness-heaviness and pliancy pair; (5) primary and secondary [elements] pair; (6) mental and physical body pair; (7) five destinies pair; (8) conscious and unconscious pair; (9) internal and external [aspects] pair; (10) mutated and unmutated pair; (11) possessing or lacking [functional] faculties pair; (12) friend, enemy, and neutral person pair; (13) inferior, middling, and superior pair; (14) infant, youthful, and aged pair.
