義曰：且如前能治寂靜等，若道加行道諸蓋伏非永斷，又前能治伏時為加行道，所治與無間道同時為無間道所斷，要所治滅能治生故。

The explanation says: For example, regarding the aforementioned antidotes such as tranquility, when on the path of preparation the hindrances are suppressed but not permanently severed; furthermore, at the time when the aforementioned antidotes suppress [them], that constitutes the path of preparation. The countered factors are simultaneous with the uninterrupted path and are severed by the uninterrupted path, because the countered factors must necessarily be extinguished for the antidotes to arise.
