In explaining the characteristics, the text says: 'One should know that here, when at the time of the factors of awakening' up to 'are collectively called right view.' The Tripiṭaka Master says: At the time of the seven factors of awakening on the path of real seeing, the true awakening of investigation of phenomena is attained; now, on the path of provisional seeing, through the subsequently attained knowledge, one establishes the practice of contemplation and awakes just as in the real realization on the path of real seeing; therefore, these two awakenings are collectively called right awakening. Now, on the path of cultivation, right view is also twofold: first, the right view of non-conceptual knowledge; second, the right view of subsequently produced knowledge. Seeing in accordance with that real view established, they are collectively called right view. As for right thought: if it is conjoined with non-conceptual knowledge, then non-conceptual knowledge and thought free from wrong thought are called right thought. If it is the subsequently attained knowledge and right thought with a dispersed mind, then conceptual wisdom and intention are employed and called right thought.
