7.381

若久於法義勵力審思，方能領受解了通達。若有慢行，雖聞正化不則歸信。若尋思行，隨聞隨失。泰云：前約入道明於貪行。今據邪道辨尋思行，但欲明行相。

Only after long exerting effort to investigate and reflect carefully on the Dharma and its meaning can they receive, understand, and penetrate it. If one is of arrogant conduct, although one hears the correct teaching, one does not submit and have faith. If one is of discursive conduct, as soon as one hears, one forgets. Tai says: Previously, lustful conduct was clarified with respect to entering the path; here discursive conduct is distinguished based on wrong paths; it merely intends to clarify the characteristics of their conduct.
