初句、明隨眾多教順觀眾多，由觀多故令止亦多，觀又隨境品類亦多。

The first proposition explains that following numerous teachings accords with contemplating numerous [dharmas]; because contemplation is plentiful, it also makes calming plentiful; furthermore, contemplation is of many kinds in accordance with its objects.
