義曰：今別作法後加行緣後品故，隨此義故不取，其實亦是謂又已斷非想第八品以來惑未斷第九品成究竟位所謂有諸道，是欲界初品對治道之勝進道。又是斷欲界惑第三果人之勝進道。若至非想第九無間道亦是勝進道。若第九解脫道且不名勝進，以得解脫果是解脫增勝名解脫道。今此中並得義非真作法。

"Explanation: Now, treating them separately, because the subsequent application takes the subsequent grade as its object, according to this meaning it is not included; but in reality it also is. That is to say, from having severed the eighth grade of neither-conceptualization-nor-non-conceptualization onward, before the ninth grade of affliction is severed to complete the ultimate stage, all the paths that exist are the path of superior progress of the antidote path to the first grade of the desire realm. Furthermore, they are the path of superior progress of a person of the third fruit who severs the afflictions of the desire realm. Reaching the ninth uninterrupted path of neither-conceptualization-nor-non-conceptualization is also the path of superior progress. As for the ninth path of liberation, for the time being it is not called superior progress, because attaining the fruit of liberation, which is the preeminence of liberation, is called the path of liberation. Here both meanings are valid, not a rigid formulation."
