"Having emerged from the deep pit of defilement": this is the fifth, freedom from the four floods. "Having crossed the deep trench": this is the sixth, freedom from the four yokes. "Able to overthrow that īṣīkā, being a true noble one": this is the seventh. In the Western regions there is a mountain named Īṣīkā, high and steep. Jing says: "This is an analogy for the self-elevation of arrogance." Ji says: "It is an analogy for the afflictions of the peak of existence being high and supreme; the non-learner abandoning the afflictions of the peak of existence is like overthrowing the īṣīkā."
