8.235

（景云）方便道成，更復修習入諦觀修習三相，前門已辨，但知第三獨覺發心入聖不能盡滿而復經生者，是初二果非是不還，若是不退不能盡漏住果，命終則生上界，無有獨覺生上界者故知第三獨覺遇佛發心修道入聖，不能盡漏而命終者，是初二果。次文自判，初名麟角，後二名部行。

(Jing says:) When the path of preparation is accomplished, they further cultivate and enter the contemplation of the truths, cultivating the three characteristics, which has already been distinguished in the previous division. However, one should know that when the third pratyekabuddha generates the mind and enters nobility, but cannot complete it and passes through rebirths, this refers to the first two fruits, not to non-returning; if a non-returner who cannot exhaust taints abides in the fruit, when their life ends they are reborn in the higher realms, but no pratyekabuddha is reborn in the higher realms; therefore, one knows that when the third pratyekabuddha encounters a Buddha, generates the mind, cultivates the path, enters nobility, and dies without exhausting taints, this refers to the first two fruits. The subsequent text itself determines that the first is called rhinoceros-horn, and the latter two are called group-farers.
