基云：西方有二，一說，種姓持，如護月菩薩取無始法爾種即十信前，發心持即十信已去所有發心，菩提分法持即十住已去所行之法。

Ji says: There are two [explanations] in the Western region: One explanation holds that the support of gotra, as Bodhisattva Candragomin takes it, is the innate seed from beginningless time, namely before the ten faiths; the support of generating the aspiration is all aspirations generated from the ten faiths onward; and the support of dharmas conducive to awakening is the dharmas practiced from the ten dwellings onward.
