According to Dharmapāla's meaning: the natural gotra with respect to the enjoyment body (saṃbhogakāya) is a primary causal condition, but with respect to the other two bodies it is not a primary causal condition. If viewed with respect to the eight consciousnesses and four wisdoms, it is a primary causal condition. The cultivated gotra with respect to the three bodies possesses two conditions, namely causal and sovereign. With respect to the eight consciousnesses and four wisdoms, there are two explanations: One says: in the first stage and above, the wisdom of equality and the wisdom of marvelous contemplation perfume and form cultivated seeds, thereby generating the fruit of Buddhahood; with respect to these two wisdoms and the sixth and seventh consciousnesses, it can serve as three conditions, excluding the immediately antecedent; with respect to the great mirror wisdom and the wisdom of accomplishing actions, there are only two conditions, namely the objective and sovereign. Another says: the seeds of the wisdom of equality and the wisdom of marvelous contemplation with respect to the four wisdoms and eight consciousnesses possess three conditions, excluding the immediately antecedent condition.
