8.375

三藏解云：若有大乘種姓本性賢善，於父母等深生戀慕不造五逆，由餘惡業生地獄中，以種姓力能速解脫，亦有新業生彼，不同云舊微塵故業，亦可此據十信已上初地已還習種菩薩不造五逆，由餘惡業生惡道中，能速解脫，若十信已前雖有種姓不癈遇緣造五逆業多時受苦。

The Tripiṭaka Master explains: If one possesses the Mahāyāna gotra, one is intrinsically virtuous, feels deep affection and yearning for parents and others, and does not commit the five heinous acts. If born into hell due to other evil karma, by the power of the gotra one can swiftly attain liberation. There is also new karma causing rebirth there, unlike what is termed old subtle karma from the past. Alternatively, this may be based on bodhisattvas of the gotra of practice from the ten faiths upward up to the first bhūmi, who do not commit the five heinous acts and, being born in the evil destinies due to other evil karma, can swiftly attain liberation; whereas prior to the ten faiths, although possessing the gotra, it is not precluded that they may encounter conditions, create karma of the five heinous acts, and undergo suffering for a long time.
