泰云：無始已來雖有種姓，由闕四緣不能速證，四緣若具唯經三劫便能速證，資糧圓滿即在初劫定得成佛，故無姓人必闕第四，前三得有。

Tai says: From beginningless time, though possessing the gotra, due to lacking the four conditions one cannot swiftly realize it; if the four conditions are complete, over the course of only three kalpas one can swiftly realize it, and when the provisions are completed in the very first kalpa, one will determinately attain buddhahood. Therefore, a person without gotra must lack the fourth condition, whereas the former three they may possess.
