Third, one is untiring in benefiting others. Fourth, the coarse heaviness of body and mind becomes progressively lighter. Fifth, the spells and incantations one employs all possess divine efficacy. Jing says: 'Generally, when chanting incantations the words and phrases are distinct; this is called an illuminated phrase (vidyā).' [Kuai]ji says: 'Chanting phrases of incantations is general; an "illuminated phrase" means the incantation has clear discernment, or this incantation has illuminating power, and that which is of great majestic spiritual power is called an illuminated phrase.'
