測云：如是要有乃至假說所表者，此解意云：要有色等諸法從因緣生，依他性實唯事自相，方可得有色等諸法共相假立言說，非無依他起自相實有唯事而得有共相假立言說。

Ce says: Regarding "in this way, there must be… up to… what is expressed by metaphorical designation": The meaning of this explanation is that only if there are forms and other dharmas arisen from causes and conditions, which are the reality of the other-dependent nature (paratantra) as mere fact and specific characteristic, can there be the conventional designations and verbal expressions of the common characteristics of forms and other dharmas. It is not that without the real existence of the specific characteristic of the other-dependent nature as mere fact, there could be the conventional designations and verbal expressions of common characteristics.
