測云：是大乘人非是聲聞乘迦旃延也，世尊為彼作如是說，不依四大四空，亦不依此他二世，亦不依日月輪取光明相，亦不依見聞覺知方便所求正有所為，不依意識，雖尋伺觀察乃不依一切分別性而修靜慮。此中意謂，唯依依他真實修靜慮也。

Ce says: "He is a person of the Mahāyāna, not the Kātyāyana of the Śrāvakayāna. The World-Honoured One spoke thus to him: not relying on the four great elements or the four formless realms; neither relying on this world nor the other world; neither relying on the discs of the sun and moon to apprehend the mark of light; nor relying on what is properly undertaken as sought by the expedients of seeing, hearing, sensing, and knowing; not relying on the mental consciousness; and, though investigating, reflecting, and observing, not relying on any conceptualized nature in cultivating dhyāna. The meaning here is that one cultivates dhyāna relying solely on the real nature of the other-dependent (paratantra)."
