From here below, the fourth part explains that fools, not understanding the phenomena transcendent of verbal expression, give rise to eight kinds of conceptual discrimination. Therein are four parts: first, explaining that through lack of understanding they give rise to the eight discriminations; second, cultivating the four investigations and four knowledges of reality in order to know the faults of discrimination; third, below 'Fools regarding these four knowledges of reality...', explaining that because fools are obscured by ignorance, they give rise to discrimination and transmigrate unceasingly; fourth, below 'Bodhisattvas relying on these four knowledges of reality...', explaining that because bodhisattvas rely on knowledge to comprehend discrimination, they can realize the great fruition. The first part has three sections: first, explaining that through lack of understanding of phenomena transcendent of words, they give rise to the eight discriminations, producing the three bases that can generate the two worlds; next, explaining the eight kinds of discrimination; last, distinguishing how the first three discriminations among the eight and their basis and conditions mutually generate one another. The former section has three: first, a general indication; second, distinct explanations; third, distinguishing that the generation of root and branch among the produced bases encompasses all phenomena completely.
