泰云：初三分別法執為體，次二分別但是起見慢，前方便故，從我我所分別後有我我所方名我見，由我見故方起我慢，從二分別生見慢已我見為本生餘四見，我慢為本生七慢等，後三分別是三毒方便。

Tai says: "The first three discriminations have clinging to phenomena as their nature. The next two discriminations are merely the preparatory expedients for giving rise to views and conceit; because from the discrimination of self and what belongs to self there is subsequently self and what belongs to self, it is only then called self-view. Because of self-view, one only then gives rise to self-conceit. Once views and conceit are produced from the two discriminations, self-view serves as the root to produce the other four views, and self-conceit serves as the root to produce the seven conceits, etc. The last three discriminations are the expedients of the three poisons."
