文云：此三分別能生分別戲論所依緣事等者，景云：分別戲論是能緣心，依緣即是心所託，言謂色等想者是能詮名事，為依緣者是所詮事。言說所攝，重辨能詮名。名想言說所顯者，重辨所詮事業，此名義為所。

The text states: 'These three discriminations can produce the basis and condition of discrimination and conceptual proliferation', etc. Jing says: 'Discrimination and conceptual proliferation' is the cognizing mind; 'basis and condition' is precisely what the mind relies upon. The phrase 'conceptualizations of form and so forth' refers to the expressing names; 'serving as basis and condition' refers to the expressed referents. 'Subsumed under verbal expression' re-explains the expressing names. 'Revealed by name, conceptualization, and verbal expression' re-explains the expressed activity; these names and meanings are the object.
