測云：問：眼等諸根皆從相分熏習生，分別是見，何故此中說三分別為能生耶？解云：據實為論，相分種子能生眼等根境，今言三分能生者，相分熏習要因見分方能熏習，就此勝用說為能生。

Ce says: Question: The faculties such as the eye all arise from the perfuming of the objective aspect (nimittabhāga); conceptualisation is the subjective-seeing aspect (darśanabhāga). Why is it said here that the three conceptualisations are capable of generating them? The explanation says: Speaking in terms of reality, the seeds of the objective aspect can generate the faculties and objects such as the eye. Now when it is said that the three [conceptualisations] can generate them, it is because the perfuming of the objective aspect must depend on the subjective-seeing aspect in order to perfume. It is in terms of this superior function that they are spoken of as capable of generating.
