明事尋思中，攝論云：如名身等所詮表，約蘊界處等推求，此性唯假非實非有種類差別，今約如是所詮能詮相應不相應理，故不待論云推求，依此文名與義亦唯假立，思惟此相似外相轉，實唯在內。

In explaining investigation into things (vastu), the Mahāyānasaṃgraha states: 'In accordance with what is expressed by sets of names and so forth, investigating with reference to the aggregates, realms, bases, and so forth, this nature is merely conventional, not real, and has no species of real existence.' Here, in terms of the principle of the conjunction and non-conjunction of the expressed and the expressing, one does not need the śāstra to state 'investigating'; based on this text, names and referents are also merely conventionally posited, and contemplating this, they operate externally in appearance, whereas in reality they exist only internally.
