基云：諸佛唯成就方便善不成就生得善，生得善唯有漏故，菩薩通有二種。今言俱生威力者即方便善，先世曾習今與身俱生故名俱生威力，非號生得善也。

Ji says: The Buddhas accomplish only the wholesome [roots] of skillful means and do not accomplish innate wholesome [roots], because innate wholesome roots are exclusively tainted. Bodhisattvas possess both kinds. Now, what is called "congenital spiritual power" refers to the wholesome [roots] of skillful means: because it was practiced in previous lives and is now co-born with the body, it is named congenital spiritual power, not called innate wholesome [roots].
