四、明三度五通之內，若據菩薩，似無他度，以色界他心智知無色界心故，但有根度人度，以共相形，人有勝劣根有上下故，二乘之人具有三度。如上三十三卷說：色聲之事應有人度根度，下根不知上根境界，下人不知上人境界。

4. Explaining the three limits: within the five supernormal knowledges, as far as bodhisattvas are concerned, there seems to be no limit regarding the other realm, because the knowledge of others' minds in the form realm knows minds of the formless realm. There are only the limit of faculties and the limit of persons; because when compared with one another, persons have superiority and inferiority, and faculties have higher and lower grades. Persons of the two vehicles fully possess the three limits. As stated above in Fascicle Thirty-Three: with respect to matters of form and sound, there should be the limit of persons and the limit of faculties—lower faculties do not know the sphere of higher faculties, and inferior persons do not know the sphere of superior persons.
