或有諸佛菩薩雖滅度後由住持力而隨轉者，如須扇多佛出現成道已不久即滅，而更留一化身一劫度人，又如釋迦留影在月支國石室也。

Or there are Buddhas and bodhisattvas who, although after having passed into extinction, continue in succession due to the power of sustaining: as when the Buddha Śuśānta appeared, accomplished the path, and soon passed into extinction, yet further left a manifested body for one kalpa to deliver beings; and again as Śākyamuni left his shadow in the stone cave in the country of the Yuezhi.
