或有繫作利益，他事便息者，如化作一比丘，乞食事訖，即滅等。基云：而故隨轉者，如釋迦佛雖滅度由住持力令法至今隨轉。化事便息者，如須扇多成道已即般涅槃法亦隨滅，無住持力後不流布，故化事便息。

Or there are those who are bound to produce benefit, and once the other matter is completed, it ceases: as when manifesting as a bhikṣu, when the matter of begging for food is completed, it immediately vanishes, and so forth. Ji says: "Yet continuously turning in succession" is like Śākyamuni Buddha: although he passed into extinction, due to his power of sustaining he causes the Dharma to continue in succession to this day. "The matter of manifestation immediately ceasing" is like Śuśānta: once he accomplished the path, he immediately entered parinirvāṇa, and the Dharma likewise ceased; having no sustaining power, it did not circulate afterward, and therefore the matter of manifestation immediately ceased.
