聞天聲中，若不作意但聞此一欲色界聲，若其作意即知多界，此據七地已還有功用位作此分判，若入八地已去及佛於一切時不待作意明知多界所有音聲。

Regarding hearing divine sounds: if one does not bring attention to bear, one hears only the sounds of this single desire or form realm; if one brings attention to bear, one then knows multiple realms. This distinction is made according to the levels involving effort up to the seventh bhūmi; if one has entered the eighth bhūmi and above, or is a buddha, at all times, without waiting for attention to be brought to bear, one clearly knows all the sounds of multiple realms.
