Forty-seventh, discerning remedies and what is to be remedied in terms of the three conducts. 'Conduct of desire' is partaking of the five desires. 'Conduct of merit' is partaking of worldly merit. 'Conduct of co-residence' is abiding together in seclusion. Based on these three conducts, there are six kinds of attachment and aversion, four bases, and five remedies. Among the first six: 1. greed for sensory objects; 2. increased anger toward enemies; 3. greed following erroneous teachings; 4. superior anger, which prevents others from attaining superior happiness experienced by them; 5. giving rise to greed toward virtuous persons and giving with clinging; 6. giving rise to anger toward persons with faults and not wishing to give. Because of this, one's mind is unequal toward the disliked; although practicing the merit of giving, one constantly spies on where the recipient field abides, inwardly destroyed by sorrow and anxiety and dwelling without tranquility. [Next are] the four bases.
