Crooked, defiled, and turbid karmas are defined in two ways: First, the wholesome and unwholesome karmas of non-Buddhists are called crooked. These crooked karmas, as well as the wholesome and unwholesome karmas of ordinary persons within this Dharma who hold inverted views, adhere to attachment to views, have wrong determinations, or have vacillating consciousness regarding the noble teaching, are called defiled. These preceding two karmas, as well as the wholesome and unwholesome karmas of ordinary persons within this Dharma who are undetermined regarding the noble teaching, are called turbid. Second, it is solely within non-Buddhist traditions that these three karmas exist, as in the text.
