'Manifesting as a likeness of matter' means: these three kinds of other-dependent matter manifest as a likeness of conceptually imputed real matter; hence the Abhidharmasamuccaya says: 'discernment as a likeness of matter'. Alternatively, what is apprehended by the eye and the mind is like the matter transformed by the fundamental consciousness; hence it is called 'a likeness of matter'.
