1.64

離欲四緣：一、凡聖根熟；二、聞隨所應法；三、離所應障；四、起正思惟，方能離欲。體唯是慧，通有無漏。

Relinquishing desire has four conditions: first, maturity of faculties in ordinary persons or noble ones; second, hearing the appropriate Dharma; third, leaving behind the appropriate obstacles; fourth, giving rise to correct contemplation—only then can one relinquish desire. Its essence is exclusively prajñā, extending to both defiled and undefiled.
