When explaining the discrimination of total grasping, the treatise says, "Self, sentient being, living soul," and so forth. In the discrimination of self and mine, one also conceptualizes a view of self; what distinction is there between these? The answer is: The previous total grasping is explained in terms of both graspings, whereas the discrimination of self and mine is solely grasping at persons; hence there is a distinction. As for inquiry and knowledge as it truly is being common to the two knowledges, it is as in the Notes on the Abhidharmasamuccaya.
