In the treatise's explanation of the intrinsic nature of patience, regarding "being able to endure fully with respect to all, being able to endure universally with respect to all," this means: vertically pervading the three realms is called "full endurance"; horizontally spanning the four forms of birth is "universal endurance." Furthermore, extending generally to sentient beings is "full endurance"; endurance extending to enemies and kin alike is "universal endurance." In this manner, there are immeasurable distinctions. Regarding "due to an undefiled mind, solely out of compassion," according to the Bodhisattvabhūmi-sūtra, an undefiled mind is non-greed, because patience relies on non-greed and a compassionate mind to endure. Here, regarding the undefiled mind: taking the defiled mind to be greed is acceptable, and taking it to be anger is also acceptable.
