11.88

論解住別解脫律儀戒中，第五云「由此因緣，則能拘撿；習拘撿故，漸能如昔」等，此文意可知。言拘撿者，即拘撿其心，令不起惡散亂。如人作拘撿時，不生縱逸等。

Where the treatise explains the precepts of abiding in the prātimokṣa discipline, the fifth says: "Due to this cause and condition, one is able to exercise restraint; because of practicing restraint, one is gradually able to be as before," and so forth: the meaning of this text can be known. The word "restraint" means restraining one's mind so that it does not give rise to bad distraction. Just as when a person exercises restraint, he does not give rise to laxity and the like.
