12.72

論云「出家菩薩一向能行鉤鎖梵行」者，鉤鎖，意取相拘礙義。出家之人，有所禁戒，防惡三業，故如鉤鎖。在家菩薩即不如是也，一向放逸故。

Where the treatise states, "Renunciant bodhisattvas are definitively able to practice linked celibacy (brahmacarya)": "linked" takes the meaning of mutual restraint. A person who has renounced household life has prohibitions and precepts that guard against the three evil karmas, and thus it is like linked chains. Householder bodhisattvas are not like this, because they are definitively indolent.
